With the increase of carbonization temperature and the prolongation of heat preservation time, the quantity of CO and-CH3 decreased correspondingly. That is to say, due to the decrease of the quantity of water absorbent hydroxyl, the dimensional stability of wood after carbonization was significantly improved, the quality of wood before and after carbonization changed, and hemicellulose was degraded in the process of heat treatment.
